Can Ping Pong, Naps and Video Games really make you more productive?

Can ping pong, naps and video games really make you more productive/innovative? A new book "Imagine," by Jonah Lehre says yes. Lehre contends that these breaks can help alleviate the pressure and help you think outside the box.  He told Chris Dorobek on the DorobekINSIDER program the reason that you often get your best ideas in the shower is because you are not distracted by your phone, email, facebook, twitter etc. In the shower it's you and your thoughts. • Lehre also says one of the best ways for organizations to be innovative is through horizontal communications
  • "This is the type of communication where you aren't just talking to people on your team, but your talking to other teams, your bosses, your boss' boss and the entry level workers too."
So what do you think...should you ask your boss to add in a ping pong table? The boys here at GovLoop certainly love our ping pong table!
